Ankle decisions — 2024

The Veteran's left ankle disability is rated at a maximum of 20 percent, effective August 15, 2015. The appeal for TDIU remains pending and requires further development due to conflicting employment information.

The Board has granted service connection for right ankle strain, left ankle strain, right knee disability, and left knee disability as secondary to the Veteran's service-connected bilateral feet arthrosis with plantar fasciitis.

The Board has granted the Veteran's request to readjudicate his claim for service connection for a right knee disability, as secondary to his service-connected right ankle disability. The case is now remanded for further examination and opinion regarding whether the right knee disability was caused or aggravated by the right ankle disability.

The Veteran's right and left lower extremity radiculopathy, left ankle lateral collateral ligament sprain, and left thumb tendonitis are all denied as the evidence does not support a higher rating.,Service connection for an acquired psychiatric disorder (including PTSD, persistent depressive disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder), a right knee disability, a left wrist disability, and chronic headaches is remanded due to insufficient evidence.

The Veteran's right ankle disability and instability are granted, but the rating for his degenerative arthritis is denied.

The Veteran's PTSD rating was restored to 70 percent effective June 1, 2020. The left knee and ankle degenerative joint diseases are remanded for further evaluation.

The Veteran's sleep apnea, degenerative disc disease of the thoracic spine, left and right lower extremity radiculopathy, left knee patellofemoral syndrome with degenerative arthritis, right knee patellofemoral syndrome with degenerative arthritis, and left and right ankle sprain are all granted. The effective dates for these ratings have not been specified.

The Veteran's appeals have been dismissed due to his withdrawal of all issues on appeal.

The Veteran's PTSD, low back pain and strain, left shoulder pain and strain, right shoulder pain and strain, left hand numbness, left hand pain, right hand numbness, right hand pain, and right ankle pain and strain have been granted service connection.,A VA examination is required to determine the current severity of the Veteran's service-connected left knee disability.

The Veteran's PTSD is rated at 50 percent prior to August 11, 2020. The Board granted a TDIU effective January 19, 2013.
