Veterans’ RightsAn independent resource for veterans

Find help you can trust

By law, only VA-accredited people can represent you. The good news: VSOs help for free. Start there. You always reach out yourself — we never share your information or sell you as a lead.

Know the fee rules. A VSO is free. An accredited attorney or claims agent cannotcharge you for the initial claim, and may only charge a fee after a VA decision — capped at 20% of past-due benefits (38 CFR § 14.636). Anyone asking for money up front for a first claim is a red flag.

60 accredited reps — free VSOs first

Sourced from the official VA OGC accreditation directory. Always verify accreditation before working with anyone. We never sell your information.

How ordering works: free VSOs always come first. A “Claimed profile” means an attorney or claims agent subscribes to support this free site; claimed profiles appear first within their own category. A subscription never changes who is listed, never moves anyone above free VSO help, and never gives us a say in who you contact.

We are not the VA. Veterans’ Rights is an independent resource built for veterans. We are not the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, not part of the government, and not endorsed by any government agency.

This is general information, not legal advice. For advice about your own situation, talk to a VA-accredited representative — many help for free.
