Asthma Board decisions

The Board has granted service connection for asthma, back disability, and right shoulder disability. The claims are based on presumptive exposure to fine particulate matter in Iraq.

The Veteran's asthma was granted service connection due to in-service exposure and continued symptoms since discharge. The right wrist disability was denied as not related to service.

The Veteran's hypertension is related to in-service exposure to tactical herbicide agent(s) during his service at Royal Thai Air Base. Service connection for hypertension on a direct basis is granted.

The Veteran's service-connected disabilities do not prevent him from securing and following substantially gainful employment, as his income is below the poverty threshold.

All service connection claims for bladder issues, arrhythmia, bilateral vision issues, a skin condition, asthma, vertigo, IBS, a right elbow condition, a right hand condition, hyperlipidemia, and anemia have been dismissed.,PTSD has been granted with a 70 percent rating as of June 29, 2023, and a 100 percent rating as of October 14, 2025.
