Erectile dysfunction decisions — 2024

The Board has determined that the VA medical opinion provided was inadequate and remands the case for a new addendum opinion to determine if the Veteran's erectile dysfunction is at least as likely as not caused or aggravated by his service-connected PTSD and/or back condition.

The Board has denied the Veteran's claims of service connection for various conditions, including respiratory disorder, gastrointestinal disorder, right shoulder disorder, left shoulder disorder, right ankle disorder, left ankle disorder, erectile dysfunction, and bilateral pes cavus. The evidence does not support a finding that these conditions are related to military service.

The Veteran's claim for service connection for erectile dysfunction as secondary to prostatitis was granted with an effective date of October 4, 2005. The decision is based on new and material evidence submitted after the initial denial in December 2006.

The Veteran's claims for increased ratings and service connection were denied. The Board found that the evidence did not support a higher rating or service connection for any of the conditions.

The Veteran's claims for increased ratings of erectile dysfunction and diabetes, as well as his claim for service connection for sleep disorders secondary to a service-connected disability, are denied. His claims for separate compensable ratings for diabetic retinopathy associated with diabetes and for chronic kidney disease are remanded.

The Board has remanded the Veteran's claims for bilateral hearing loss and TDIU due to service-connected disabilities, including a need for additional development of VA records.

The Board has remanded the application to reopen a claim of service connection for erectile dysfunction due to procedural issues related to the Veteran's widow's motion for substitution.

The Veteran's service-connected disabilities do not render him unemployable prior to August 9, 2011. The Board finds that the evidence does not show any single disability preventing the Veteran from securing and following substantially gainful employment.

The Veteran's combined service-connected rating is 90 percent, which does not meet the criteria for a 100 percent rating.
