Kidney disease decisions — 2009

The veteran's claims for an increase in the rating for residuals of renal colic and a compensable rating for tinea cruris are being remanded for further development.

The veteran's diabetes mellitus does not require regulation of activities, and there is no evidence of a kidney disability. Therefore, the claims for an increased rating for diabetes and service connection for a kidney disability have been denied.

The Board denied service connection for the cause of the veteran's death and entitlement to DIC under 38 U.S.C.A. § 1318, as there was no evidence that any of the veteran's disabilities were incurred in or aggravated by service.

The Board denied service connection for residuals of heat exhaustion and a renal condition, as there was no evidence of a nexus between the current disability and military service.

The Board denied service connection for a genitourinary disorder, claimed as residuals of a urinary tract infection with kidney disorder and prostatitis, finding that the condition did not develop in service and was not otherwise causally related to service.
