Knee Board decisions

The Board has remanded the Veteran's claim for a new VA examination to determine the nature and etiology of his claimed right knee disability, including status post total knee replacement.

The Board found no evidence of a chronic knee disability in service and denied the Veteran's claims for service connection as there is not sufficient medical evidence to support a nexus between his current knee disabilities and his military service.

The Veteran's right knee disorder claim is being remanded for a VA examination to determine if it is related to service-connected stress fractures or military service.

The Board has determined that the Veteran's service connection claims for a left knee disorder and a left hip disorder are granted, with the conditions being considered direct service connections based on evidence of current disability and in-service disease or injury.

The Board denied service connection for back and left knee disabilities, but reopened the claim for a left ankle disability due to new evidence submitted by the Veteran.

The Board found that the Veteran's preexisting right knee arthritis did not permanently increase in severity during service, and thus denied her claim for service connection.

The Board has reopened the claims of service connection for left shoulder, right shoulder, cervical spine, and low back disabilities. The Veteran's current conditions are related to a car accident during military service.,The Board has not reopened the claims of service connection for left knee disability and Crohn's disease. The evidence submitted does not relate these conditions to service.

The Veteran's right knee replacement results in chronic residuals including severe weakness, warranting a 60% rating.

The Board denied the Veteran's petition to reopen his claim of service connection for bursitis of the right knee and found that he did not meet the criteria for a higher rating under Diagnostic Code 7120. The Veteran was granted a 20 percent disability rating for varicose veins of the right thigh and knee, effective March 21, 2008.
