Knee Board decisions

The Board found that the Veteran's left knee and back disorders are not proximately due to or aggravated by his service-connected right knee disorder. The claims for secondary service connection were denied.

The Veteran's right knee disability, characterized by instability and arthritis, did not meet the criteria for a rating in excess of 10 percent during the period from May 14, 2004, through May 24, 2007.

The Board has reopened the Veteran's claim for service connection for a low back condition, to include as secondary to service-connected right knee strain. The case is remanded for further development and readjudication.

The Board finds that the Veteran's left knee disability, including residuals of injury and DJD, is related to his active service. Service connection for a low back disability, including residuals of injury and lumbar strain, is granted as secondary to the left knee disability.

The Board found that the evidence does not support a finding that the Veteran's right knee disorder is related to his service, and thus denied his claim.
