Knee Board decisions

The Board has reopened the Veteran's claim for service connection for a left knee disability, but has not yet decided whether new and material evidence supports the claim.

The Board has determined that the Veteran is not entitled to service connection for a left knee condition as there is no competent medical evidence linking any current left knee disorder to active service.

The Veteran's claims for increased ratings for left and right knee disabilities are being remanded due to the need for additional VA treatment records, including X-rays of the knees. The case will be returned to the Board after these records have been secured.

The issues include bilateral hearing loss, tinnitus, right shoulder disability, low back disability, right knee disability, left knee disability, left eye disability (post-surgical scar), and an acquired psychiatric disorder (PTSD).

The Veteran's appeal has been dismissed as he withdrew his request for a higher disability rating for his right knee condition.

The Veteran's service-connected left knee disability results in pain but does not result in motion limited to less than 120 degrees of flexion or to other than zero degrees of extension, and does not result in any instability or subluxation. The Board finds that the criteria for a higher rating are not met.
