Knee Board decisions

The Board has determined that the veteran's right knee disability, including arthritis, is not related to service or any incident therein.

The veteran's right knee disorder is being remanded for additional development, including obtaining medical records and providing the veteran with a VA examination to determine if his current condition is related to service.

The veteran's service-connected disabilities do not meet the criteria for a certificate of eligibility for assistance in acquiring specially adapted housing or a special home adaptation grant.

The Board denied the veteran's claims for service connection for bilateral knee, hip, and back disorders. The evidence did not show a link between these conditions and his military service.

The Board has determined that the veteran's right knee gouty arthritis, claimed as due to medication prescribed by VA, meets the criteria for compensation under 38 U.S.C.A. § 1151.

The veteran's appeal has been dismissed due to his death.

The Board denied the veteran's claims for service connection for sinusitis and a compensable evaluation for her left knee disability, finding that there was no evidence of chronic sinusitis in service or currently. The left knee disability is evaluated as noncompensably disabling.

The Board found that the veteran does not have current pes planus, left knee disorder, or right shoulder disorder linked to active service.

The Board granted an increased disability rating of 20 percent for the veteran's left knee disability, effective July 21, 1997. The decision also noted that a separate rating for arthritis in the left knee is warranted.

The Board has granted a 10 percent rating for the veteran's service-connected left knee disability, which includes arthritis, instability, and post-surgical scarring.
