Knee Board decisions

The Veteran was granted an initial rating of 20 percent for right knee osteoarthritis with painful motion from April 1, 2015, and a 10 percent rating for right knee instability from April 1, 2015 to May 4, 2018. The claim for an increased rating higher than 10 percent for right knee instability was denied from May 5, 2018.

The Board remands the claims for service connection for a right knee disability and an initial rating in excess of 20 percent for herniated disc at L4-L5, as well as related radiculopathy claims, to obtain additional evidence.

The Board denied the Veteran's claims for increased ratings for right ankle and knee disabilities, finding that the evidence did not support higher ratings under applicable criteria.

The Board granted service connection for right and left knee strains due to carrying heavy equipment during active service. The Board denied an increased rating for bilateral hearing loss prior to July 5, 2022, but granted a higher rating from that date.

The Veteran's claims for increased ratings and service connection were denied. The right knee and left knee DJD with patellofemoral syndrome and Baker's cyst, as well as the hallux valgus of both great toes, are all rated at their maximum allowable under VA regulations.

The Board granted service connection for lumbosacral strain, left middle finger strain, right knee patellofemoral pain syndrome, left knee pain with functional impairment, and right and left ankle pain with functional impairment. The claims for a left shoulder disability, stomach disability, and an anxiety disorder were denied or remanded.

The Board granted an effective date of July 3, 2019, for the award of service connection for right knee strain, limitation of flexion.

The appeal for service connection of allergies, bilateral hearing loss, right and left knee pain, low back pain, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has been withdrawn by the appellant.

The Board granted service connection for right knee disability, finding the evidence to be in approximate balance regarding its relation to the Veteran's military service.

The Veteran's PTSD is rated at 50 percent, effective June 6, 2017. The Board also granted a TDIU prior to January 1, 2020, based on the combined effects of his service-connected disabilities.

The Board has determined that the Veteran does not have a current diagnosis of left knee, ankle pain, or foot disability. The evidence is against finding any such disabilities at any time during the pendency of the claim.

The Veteran's claims for service connection for chest pain, left knee condition, numbness and tingling of the lower extremities, and low back disorder have been denied as there is no current disability related to his military service.,Service connection was not granted because the evidence does not show a nexus between any diagnosed conditions and his military service.

The Board has denied the Veteran's claims for service connection for left knee strain, right elbow lateral epicondylitis, and left elbow lateral epicondylitis. The evidence does not support a finding that these conditions are related to active duty service.

The Veteran's migraine headaches are currently rated as noncompensable, with less frequent attacks without characteristic prostrating attacks.,The Veteran's left knee strain is currently rated at 10 percent, limited to 80 degrees of flexion and full extension.

The Board granted a separate rating for stiff person syndrome as secondary to the right knee disability and denied an increased rating for the right knee. The Veteran was also granted specially adapted housing and special monthly compensation.
