Knee Board decisions

The Board has remanded the Veteran's claims of service connection for right and left ankle disabilities, as well as right and left knee disabilities due to inadequate reasons or bases in the previous decision.

The Board has granted readjudication of the claims for service connection for right knee, left knee, and back disabilities due to new and relevant evidence submitted by the Veteran. The claims are being remanded for further examination and opinion regarding the etiology of these conditions.

The Veteran's left and right knee instability were granted increased ratings from June 6, 2014 to May 19, 2015. From May 19, 2015 to February 20, 2018, the Veteran was awarded a maximum schedular rating of 20 percent for each knee. Since February 20, 2018 and June 13, 2018 respectively, the Veteran received a maximum schedular rating of 30 percent for left and right knee instability.,Throughout the appeal period, the Veteran's knees were rated based on their instability, with some periods meeting criteria for moderate instability and others for severe instability.

The Board has denied the Veteran's claims for effective dates prior to January 6, 2021 for his service connection awards and remanded the initial disability rating claims.
