Acquired psychiatric disorder decisions — 2001

The Board has determined that further development is needed to determine the etiology of the veteran's claimed conditions and to adjudicate his increased rating claims. The RO must obtain all relevant medical records, arrange for appropriate examinations, and then consider the claims on their merits.

The Board has reopened the claim for service connection for a neuropsychiatric disorder due to new and material evidence submitted since the 1971 RO decision. The veteran is now entitled to a VA psychiatric examination to determine the nature, severity, etiology, and date of onset of his neuropsychiatric disorder.

The Board denied the veteran's claims of service connection for tinea versicolor and an acquired psychiatric disorder secondary to a service-connected skin disorder. The evidence did not support these claims.
