PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) decisions — 2024

The Veteran's PTSD and MDD have been rated at 70 percent since the April 2020 decision, but a higher rating is denied. The effective date for service connection of PTSD/MDD is also denied.

The Board has remanded the claims for service connection due to inadequate VA opinions and requires additional examination.

The Board denied the Veteran's claim for a total disability rating based on individual unemployability due to service-connected disabilities, finding that his service-connected conditions did not prevent him from securing and following substantially gainful employment.

The Veteran's PTSD is rated at 50 percent effective July 15, 2020. The Board finds that the evidence does not support a higher rating for any portion of the appeal period.

The Veteran's service-connected disabilities prevented her from securing or following substantially gainful employment from June 4, 2015 to July 4, 2018.

The Veteran withdrew their appeal for an effective date prior to August 31, 2022 for the grant of service connection for PTSD. The Board dismissed the appeal as a result.
