PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) decisions — 2026

The Veteran's combined disability rating is currently 90 percent, which meets the minimum requirements for consideration of a schedular TDIU. The Board determines that his service-connected PTSD, prostate cancer, status post prostatectomy and asthma disabilities, in combination, render him unable to secure and follow a substantially gainful occupation, resulting in a grant of TDIU. SMC at the housebound rate is denied as there are no independent 60 percent rated disabilities.

The Veteran's PTSD is rated at 70 percent effective February 23, 2024. The effective date for TDIU was changed to February 23, 2024.
