PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) Board decisions

The Board has remanded the claims for an increased rating for PTSD with major depressive disorder, establishment of basic eligibility for Dependents' Educational Assistance (DEA), SMC based on a need for aid and attendance, and SMC at the housebound level. The Veteran's representative requested earlier effective dates for these issues.

The Veteran's service connection claim for posttraumatic stress disorder is granted as his current diagnosis and reported in-service stressor are supported by the evidence.

The Veteran's PTSD has been rated at a maximum of 100 percent since March 24, 2025, due to total occupational and social impairment.

The Board has remanded the claims of service connection for eczema, an acquired psychiatric condition (to include PTSD), and lumbosacral strain (claimed as low back pain/injury) due to insufficient evidence.

The Veteran's PTSD is rated at 50 percent effective September 25, 2024. The issue of migraines (headaches) is remanded due to a pre-decisional duty to assist error.

The Board's decision on the Veteran's motion to revise a previous decision based on CUE is dismissed without prejudice. The Veteran's application did not meet the requirements for a clear and unmistakable error (CUE) motion.
