PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) Board decisions

The Veteran's PTSD is granted as incurred in service. The right and left knee disabilities are remanded for further review.

The Veteran's appeal is dismissed because he died during the pendency of his appeal. The Board has no jurisdiction to adjudicate the merits of this appeal at this time.

The Board has granted an effective date of January 13, 2012 for service connection of PTSD. The Veteran's claim was denied in June 2006 and reopened twice before October 7, 2013 when the RO granted service connection with this effective date.

The Veteran's PTSD prior to May 28, 2020 was rated at 50 percent and denied a higher rating.,From May 28, 2020 onwards, the Veteran's PTSD was rated at 70 percent and also denied a higher rating.

The Board has determined that the Veteran's sleep apnea is not caused or aggravated by his service-connected PTSD, and therefore denied the claim for service connection.

The Board has decided to remand the case due to the need for further development, including obtaining personnel records and a VA examination regarding PTSD as due to military sexual trauma (MST).
