PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) Board decisions

The Board has found that there is new and relevant evidence to readjudicate the claims for abdominal muscle strain and acquired psychiatric disorder. The claim for service connection for abdominal muscle strain is remanded, while the claim for service connection for acquired psychiatric disorder remains pending.

The Veteran's PTSD, MDD, and alcohol use disorder are granted as service-connected. The PTSD is presumed based on military sexual trauma (MST). The MDD and alcohol use disorder are secondary to the PTSD.

The Veteran's claim for a higher rating for PTSD with unspecified depressive and generalized anxiety disorder was granted. The appeal regarding the compensable rating for allergic rhinitis is dismissed due to withdrawal of the appeal. The claim for an increased rating for chronic sinusitis is remanded.
