PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) Board decisions

The Veteran's appeal of the issue regarding an increased rating for PTSD was dismissed because the VA Form 10182 was filed prematurely before a decision on this issue had been made.

The Veteran's appeals for a temporary total rating and an increased rating for PTSD have been dismissed as the Veteran withdrew his appeal of these issues, and both ratings are now in effect.

The Veteran's PTSD was granted a 70% rating from July 30, 2018 to February 16, 2021. His bilateral hearing loss claim is dismissed and his TDIU status remains granted but the effective date for TDIU changes due to new circumstances.

The Board has denied service connection for allergic rhinitis, hypertension, tinea pedis, bilateral pes planus, and bilateral hallux valgus. The Veteran's claims for PTSD and bilateral sciatica are remanded for further development.

The Veteran's PTSD with major depressive disorder, recurrent, moderate to include symptoms of anxiety and insomnia like symptoms has been granted an initial rating of 70 percent. The Veteran's residuals, right wrist fracture and surgical scar, left ankle have also received initial ratings. However, the claims for service connection for a right foot disorder and a right ankle disorder are being remanded due to new evidence.

The claims for sleep disturbances and bilateral eye disabilities are remanded.

The Veteran's PTSD is currently rated at 50 percent, but the Board finds that a higher rating is not warranted due to the severity of his symptoms.,For the left shoulder strain, the Veteran was found to be in receipt of the maximum schedular rating and no further increase is warranted.

The Board has denied service connection for hypertension and remanded the claims of PTSD and depression due to procedural errors in obtaining VA examinations.
