Rheumatoid arthritis decisions — 2007

The Board has determined that the veteran does not have current diagnoses of rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis, and therefore service connection for these conditions is denied.

The Board found that the appellant's claimed conditions, including residuals of rheumatic fever and body rash, were not incurred or aggravated by service. The appellant did not have a pre-existing condition of rheumatic fever at entry into service.

The Board has determined that the submitted evidence does not establish that C. M. J. was permanently incapable of self-support at age 18, which is a requirement for her to be considered a helpless child.

The Board denied service connection for rheumatoid arthritis, glomerulonephritis, hypertension, pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB), and acute gastroenteritis as these conditions were not shown to be related to the veteran's military service.
