The Veteran's service-connected disabilities do not preclude him from securing or following a substantially gainful occupation.

The Veteran's service-connected right shoulder and left foot conditions were granted initial compensable ratings, while her right shoulder scars and right foot plantar fasciitis with heel spurs received the same initial rating.

The Board has recharacterized the issue of an increased evaluation for the Veteran's lumbar spine disability and awarded a 20 percent evaluation effective March 1, 2009. The Veteran is currently assigned a noncompensable evaluation for his residual scar.

The Board found that the evidence did not support a finding of credible support evidence of the claimed in-service stressor for PTSD, and there was no evidence of severe hemorrhages or multiple small eroded or ulcerated areas for gastritis. For scars, the Veteran's scars were rated as stable with no unstable or painful ones.

The Veteran's appeal is being remanded due to the need for additional VA treatment records and an updated examination. The claim will be reconsidered after these are obtained.
