Shoulder decisions — 2020

The Veteran's claim for service connection for left shoulder rotator cuff tendonitis, degenerative arthritis, and recurrent subluxation is granted. The issue of secondary service connection for right shoulder disability remains pending.

The Board denied service connection for cervical spine and left shoulder disabilities, finding that the Veteran's conditions did not originate in service or within a year of service.,The Board also denied TDIU due to the Veteran's service-connected left ankle disability.

The Board has determined that the VA examinations for the Veteran's left shoulder disability and stomach condition were not conducted in accordance with the previous remand instructions. The matter is being returned to the RO for further development.

The Board has dismissed all issues related to service connection and ratings for bilateral plantar fascitis, scar conditions, and degenerative joint disease of the shoulders due to undiagnosed illness as the Veteran withdrew his claims.

The Board has decided to remand the case due to insufficient medical opinions regarding the Veteran's left shoulder condition and its relation to service, VA care, or new evidence. The case will be returned for further development.

The Board has ordered additional VA examinations for the Veteran's claims of left wrist, right shoulder disability, right arm pain, left arm pain, lumbar spine degenerative disc disease (low back disability), left knee arthritis, and right knee arthritis. Prior to this date, the evidence does not show that motion in the arm was limited to the shoulder level or midway between the side and shoulder level.
