Shoulder decisions — 2022

The Board has revised the July 20, 2009 rating decision to grant service connection for right and left hip disorders, as well as cervical strain and left shoulder strain. Effective March 16, 2009, which is when VA received the original claim.

The Board has remanded the claims for additional development due to insufficient evidence and need for further examination.

The Board found that the Veteran did not have any diagnosed psychiatric condition in his records.

The Veteran's left shoulder disability is rated at 20 percent, but the Board finds that it does not warrant a higher rating due to functional loss and pain.,For tinea versicolor, the Veteran was granted a compensable rating prior to July 9, 2013. After this date, his condition did not meet criteria for a higher rating.

The Veteran withdrew his appeals regarding compensation under 38 U.S.C. § 1151 for a right shoulder injury and service connection for a neck injury.

The Board has decided to remand the claims for service connection for left shoulder and left ankle disabilities due to incomplete records and need for additional medical opinions.

The Board has granted service connection for bilateral upper extremity paresthesia and numbness, as well as degenerative joint disease of both hands, elbows, and shoulders. Service connection for impingement syndrome of both shoulders is also granted.

The Veteran's left shoulder disability, including traumatic shoulder dislocation and osteoarthritis, is rated at 30 percent since July 20, 2015. The decision grants a rating of 30 percent for the entire appeal period.
