Shoulder decisions — 2022

The Board has remanded the Veteran's claim for service connection for a bilateral shoulder disability due to concerns raised in a previous decision and an appeal to the Court of Appeals for Veteran Claims. The case is now pending with the VA to schedule another examination.

The Board has remanded the Veteran's claims for a right shoulder condition and bilateral plantar fasciitis due to potential issues with causation and etiology, specifically related to her service in Southwest Asia.

The Board denied the Veteran's claim for service connection for a right shoulder disability, finding that there is no evidence of a current disability related to his military service or any other basis for granting the claim.

The Veteran's claim for higher evaluations for his service-connected lumbosacral paravertebral myositis and left shoulder disability was denied. The Board has determined that the Veteran's claim for service connection for a left shoulder disability, status-post arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, requires additional evidence and an examination to determine its etiology. The case is therefore being remanded.

The Veteran's service-connected conditions do not prevent him from securing and following a substantially gainful occupation, as he is currently employed.

The Veteran's claim for service connection for a sleep condition is denied as the evidence does not support a separate diagnosis of a sleep condition. The Board finds that his symptoms are related to his already service-connected PTSD.,The Veteran's claims for service connection for heart and peripheral edema conditions have been reopened but remain denied due to lack of new and material evidence.

The Board has reopened the claims of service connection for a back disability, right shoulder disability, and bilateral knee disabilities due to new evidence submitted by the Veteran. The claims are now remanded for further development including examinations and medical opinions.

The Veteran's appeal has been dismissed for the following conditions: prostate disability, urethra disability, bilateral eye disability, right ankle disability, residuals of surgery, left shoulder disability, and right hand disability. The remaining issues have been remanded.

The Board has granted service connection for right and left shoulder disabilities on a secondary basis to the Veteran's service-connected neck disability. Service connection for a back disability was denied.
