Shoulder Board decisions

The Board remands all claims for service connection for various conditions secondary to hemochromatosis due to the need for additional development.

The Board denied service connection for right and left shoulder disorders, cervical spine disorder, and a rating in excess of 40 percent for lumbosacral spine degenerative disc disease.

The Board denied the Veteran's appeal for an initial rating in excess of 20 percent, prior to March 28, 2022, and in excess of 30 percent thereafter, for right shoulder impingement with rotator cuff and bicipital tendonitis along with glenohumeral and acromioclavicular osteoarthritis.

The Board granted an effective date of March 13, 2003, for the award of service connection for bilateral elbow and left shoulder disabilities.

The Board granted service connection for right and left wrist carpal tunnel syndrome, lumbosacral strain, cervical strain, bilateral knee strain and left knee osteoarthritis, bilateral hip trochanteric pain syndrome, bilateral elbow strain, bilateral foot degenerative arthritis, bilateral shoulder strain, and bilateral hand strain. OSA was denied.

The Board granted a 30 percent rating for the Veteran's left shoulder disability, but denied entitlement to TDIU.

The Board denied an initial rating greater than 40 percent for a service-connected left shoulder disability from October 24, 2008, to May 31, 2023.

The Board denied the veteran's claims for an initial compensable rating for tension headaches, service connection for residuals of head injury, to include TBI, a right shoulder condition, and hemorrhoids.

The Board granted service connection for tinnitus and assigned a separate 10 percent rating from November 27, 2023, for the left shoulder painful scar. The claims for an increased rating for the left shoulder disability and service connection for bilateral hearing loss were denied.

The Board denied service connection for all the claimed conditions as there was no evidence of a current disability in accordance with VA standards.

The Board granted service connection for left shoulder pain with soft-tissue injury, finding it directly related to an injury during a period of INACDUTRA.

The Board denied the Veteran's claims for an increased rating for dyspnea of unknown etiology and service connection for cardiac arrhythmia, dermatosis-left hand, cervicothoracic pain, radicular pain and paresthesia of upper extremities, and obstructive sleep apnea.

The appeal to reverse or revise a July 2008 rating decision that denied service connection for a right shoulder condition on the basis of clear and unmistakable error (CUE) was denied, while the revision of the same rating decision to grant separate 10 percent ratings for the right knee, left knee, and right hip disabilities, and a noncompensable rating for the right elbow disability was granted.

The Board granted readjudication of the claims for service connection for a left shoulder, left ankle, and bilateral foot disabilities based on new and relevant evidence received since previous denials.

The Board remands the claims for further development and evidence collection, as some relevant private treatment records have not been obtained.

The Board granted service connection for left shoulder degenerative arthritis, right shoulder degenerative arthritis, and degenerative arthritis of the lumbosacral spine. The rating for the Veteran's service-connected traumatic arthritis of the right wrist/arm was restored to 20 percent effective June 1, 2024.

The Board denied an earlier effective date for the award of service connection for hearing loss and granted an effective date of August 5, 2021, for the award of service connection for chronic sinusitis. The claims for increased ratings and additional service connection were also denied or remanded.

The Board denied service connection for a left shoulder condition, finding no evidence linking the current disability to active military service.

The Board granted an increased initial disability rating of 40 percent for right shoulder strain, impingement syndrome and rotator cuff tendonitis, effective February 27, 2023.

The Board denied service connection for right wrist, left ankle, and bilateral foot disorders due to the lack of evidence supporting current disabilities.
