Shoulder Board decisions

The Board denied service connection for tinnitus, remanded claims for left shoulder impingement syndrome and rotator cuff tendonitis, obstructive sleep apnea, and a right foot condition.

The Board denied service connection for bilateral hearing loss, left shoulder disability, neck disability, and left ankle disability. The claims for right knee, right ankle, back, right hand, left hand, left wrist, right wrist, and right shoulder disabilities were remanded.

The Board granted service connection for a left shoulder disability, a left knee disability, and peptic ulcer disease with gastritis and helicobacter Pylori as secondary to the Veteran's service-connected right shoulder and right knee disabilities.

The Board denied the veteran's claims for a compensable evaluation of thoracic outlet syndrome with left shoulder involvement, dismissed an appeal regarding a proposed reduction in the evaluation of thoracic outlet syndrome with right upper extremity peripheral neuropathy, and denied earlier effective dates for service connection for scar, right upper extremity, as well as claims for a compensable evaluation for bilateral hearing loss and tinnitus.

The Board granted service connection for left shoulder strain, right shoulder strain as secondary to the left shoulder strain, and thoracic sprain as secondary to the left shoulder strain.

The Board remands the claims for increased ratings for a neck disability and a right shoulder disability due to inadequate VA examinations.

The Board denied the veteran's claims for earlier effective dates and higher disability ratings, as well as denied a compensable rating for left and right hip strains with impairment.

The Board denied the veteran's claim for service connection for a right shoulder disability and remanded the claim for a bilateral eye disability.

The Board granted an increased disability rating of 40 percent for the right shoulder disability and special monthly compensation (SMC) based on housebound criteria, both effective October 27, 2020.

The Board granted service connection for a right shoulder condition, bilateral toenail fungus and athlete's foot, pseudofolliculitis barbae, and furuncle incision and drainage healed scar (claimed as cyst removal on buttocks with scar), but denied an increased rating in excess of 50 percent for sleep apnea with asthma associated with allergic rhinitis. The claims for service connection for prostate cancer and gum disease were remanded.

The Board granted an earlier effective date of December 10, 2016, for the grant of service connection for right shoulder, left shoulder, and major depressive disorder disabilities.

The Board granted service connection for an acquired psychiatric disorder, to include major depressive disorder and major adjustment disorder, as secondary to the Veteran's service-connected lumbar spine, left shoulder, and bilateral lower extremity radiculopathy disabilities. The claims for service connection for a left knee disability, right knee disability, left leg shin splints, and right shoulder condition were remanded.

The veteran withdrew the appeal for all service connection claims, and the Board dismissed the case.

The Board denied service connection for a right wrist disorder, right elbow disorder, and right shoulder disorder as the evidence did not show that these conditions were related to an in-service injury or disease.

The Board granted readjudication of the claims for service connection for cervical spine, low back, right shoulder, left shoulder, right knee, left knee, and sleep apnea based on new and relevant evidence.

The Board denied increased ratings for cervical spine, right and left upper extremity radiculopathy, left shoulder arthritis, left and right shoulder instability, and a right shoulder scar disabilities but granted restoration of the 20 percent rating for right shoulder instability.

The Board denied the veteran's claims for an earlier effective date for special monthly compensation, a compensable rating for his neck scar, and higher ratings for various service-connected conditions.

The appeal for service connection for left shoulder, left hip, left thigh, and left knee conditions and an increased rating for the back condition was dismissed due to a concurrent election of administrative review options.

The Board granted service connection for pseudofolliculitis barbae and remanded the remaining claims for further development.
