Shoulder Board decisions

The Veteran's left shoulder disability is currently rated at 40 percent, the maximum schedular rating available. The Board finds that a higher rating is not warranted as there is no evidence of nonunion of the humerus or loss of the head of the humerus to support an evaluation in excess of 40 percent under Diagnostic Code 5202.

The Board has determined that there is no evidence of a current disability related to service for the claimed conditions. Service connection was not granted for tinnitus, but denied for all other claims.

The Board found that the Veteran did not have a left shoulder disability, GERD, or onychomycosis in service and there is no competent evidence linking these conditions to service. The Veteran's claims for bipolar disorder and hypertension were also denied.

The Veteran's recurrent tinnitus was found to be incurred in active service. The Board granted service connection for this condition.

The Veteran's cervical spine degenerative disc disease and left shoulder arthritis are found to be related to his military service, resulting in a grant of service connection for these conditions. The issue of an increased rating for the lumbar spine disability is remanded.

The Board has determined that the Veteran's current right elbow and right shoulder disorders are not related to his military service, and thus denied both claims for service connection.
