Shoulder Board decisions

The Board has remanded the case due to inadequate opinions and incomplete records. The Veteran's left shoulder disability, including arthritis, is being reviewed again for service connection.

The Veteran's appeal for a TDIU prior to October 1, 2021 was denied as the evidence did not show he was unable to secure or follow substantially gainful employment due solely to his service-connected disabilities from October 12, 2020, to October 1, 2021.

The Board denied service connection for left and right shoulder disorders, erectile dysfunction, left foot disorder, right foot disorder, left knee disorder, and right knee disorder. The claims were remanded for further development.

The Veteran's service-connected disabilities, including left shoulder, right shoulder, thoracolumbar spine, cervical spine, left upper extremity radiculopathy, bilateral knee, bilateral elbow, headache, and eczema to the eyelids, ears, face, back, and forearms, are remanded for additional examinations to assess their current severity.

The Veteran's service-connected disabilities have rendered him unable to secure or follow a substantially gainful occupation, and the Board has granted entitlement to TDIU.

The Veteran withdrew his appeal regarding the right shoulder disorder and erectile dysfunction claims, which were previously denied. The Board dismissed the appeal due to the Veteran's withdrawal.

The Board has granted service connection for tinnitus and remanded the issues of sleep apnea, right shoulder disability, PTSD, lumbar strain, bilateral hearing loss, and GERD.

The Board denied a rating in excess of 30 percent for the Veteran's right shoulder DJD and chronic peritendinitis prior to April 5, 2022. The case is REMANDED for further development regarding entitlement to a TDIU on an extraschedular basis.

The Board has decided to remand the claims for a left shoulder condition, cervical spine condition, and lumbar spine condition due to inadequate medical opinions provided in December 2021. The VA is required to obtain new opinions from different clinicians that consider the Veteran's lay statements and provide adequate rationales.

The Veteran's migraine headaches are rated as noncompensable, effective July 23, 2012. The Board has granted a 50 percent rating for the Veteran's migraine headaches.,The issue of entitlement to a rating in excess of 20 percent for his right shoulder disability is remanded due to inadequate examination.

The Board denied service connection for bilateral hearing loss and an initial rating higher than 20 percent for residuals of a right shoulder SLAP tear. The Veteran does not have a current diagnosis of bilateral hearing loss, and his right shoulder range of motion is not limited to 45 degrees (midway between the side and shoulder).

The Board has decided to remand the claims for further development due to insufficient medical opinions regarding the in-service onset of the Veteran's shoulder disorders.
