Shoulder Board decisions

The Board denied the Veteran's claim for a rating in excess of 20 percent for his right shoulder disability and dismissed the TDIU appeal due to withdrawal by the Veteran.

The Board has remanded several issues, including the claim for service connection for multiple joints arthritis and the ratings for cervical spine disability, right shoulder disability, left wrist disability, and PTSD. The Veteran's claims are being returned to the AOJ for additional development.

The Board has remanded the case due to inadequate VA examination and missing medical records. The Veteran's left shoulder disorder claim is being sent back for a new VA examination.

The Board has remanded the claims for service connection for a cervical spine disorder, as well as rating increases for various shoulder and back conditions. The remand requires providing the Veteran with information about VA examiners who conducted his examinations, obtaining an addendum medical opinion regarding the etiology of his current cervical spine/neck disabilities, and reviewing all examination reports to ensure that requested information was provided.

The Board has determined that the Veteran's claim for service connection for a left shoulder disability, status-post arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, requires additional evidence and an examination to determine its etiology. The case is therefore being remanded.

The Board has withdrawn the issue of whether new and material evidence was received to reopen the claim for service connection for a right ankle disability. The claims for left shoulder, right shoulder, left hip, low back, left knee, and right knee disabilities have been reopened due to receipt of new and material evidence. These issues are now remanded for additional development.

The Veteran's bilateral shoulder and knee disabilities, including right elbow, left hip, and right hip conditions, are granted as service-connected.

The Board has granted service connection for an acquired mental disorder, denied service connection for a right shoulder condition, and denied service connection for a left knee condition.

The Veteran's claims for service connection are remanded due to the need for further medical examinations and opinions regarding his claimed conditions. The issues of entitlement to a compensable rating for bilateral hearing loss, as well as service connection for GERD, abdominal tumor residuals, diverticulitis, respiratory condition, headaches, skin rash condition, and joint pains (bilateral shoulder, wrists, knees, lumbar spine) are all remanded.

The Veteran's service-connected conditions do not prevent him from securing and following a substantially gainful occupation, as he is currently employed.

The Veteran's claim for service connection for a sleep condition is denied as the evidence does not support a separate diagnosis of a sleep condition. The Board finds that his symptoms are related to his already service-connected PTSD.,The Veteran's claims for service connection for heart and peripheral edema conditions have been reopened but remain denied due to lack of new and material evidence.

The Board has reopened the claims of service connection for a back disability, right shoulder disability, and bilateral knee disabilities due to new evidence submitted by the Veteran. The claims are now remanded for further development including examinations and medical opinions.

The Veteran's appeal has been dismissed for the following conditions: prostate disability, urethra disability, bilateral eye disability, right ankle disability, residuals of surgery, left shoulder disability, and right hand disability. The remaining issues have been remanded.

The Board has granted service connection for right and left shoulder disabilities on a secondary basis to the Veteran's service-connected neck disability. Service connection for a back disability was denied.

The Board has determined that further assistance is needed to obtain the Veteran's service treatment records and to provide her with a VA examination regarding her asthma, right shoulder disorder, right knee disorder, left knee disorder, and bilateral plantar fasciitis. The claims are being remanded for these purposes.

The Board denied service connection for the Veteran's claimed disabilities of the left knee, cervical spine, and left shoulder due to a lack of current disability evidence. The Board found that there was no diagnosed disease or injury in these joints during the appeal period.

The Board denied service connection for a lumbar spine disability, finding that the Veteran's current condition is not related to his military service.,The Board also denied compensation claims under 38 U.S.C. § 1151 for cervical, right shoulder, and right knee disabilities.

The Board has denied the Veteran's claims for service connection for hemorrhoids, left knee disability, right shoulder disability, cervical spine disability, gastrointestinal condition, and skin condition other than skin cancer and/or skin lesions, including tinea cruris. The evidence of record does not support a finding that any of these conditions began during or are otherwise related to the Veteran's military service.

The Board has remanded the Veteran's claims for service connection for right and left shoulder osteoarthritis and dislocation, as well as his dental trauma and nerve damage to teeth 7-10. The reasons include the need for more contemporaneous examinations of the Veteran's shoulder conditions and new VA opinions on his dental condition.
