The Board has determined that the Veteran's left hip bursitis and DJD, left knee are related to his service-connected right lower extremity disabilities (injury to the anterior muscles of the right thigh and osteoarthritis of the right knee). As a result, the claims for these conditions have been granted.

The Board granted service connection for right and left hip bursitis as secondary to the Veteran's service-connected bilateral pes cavus, but denied an increased rating in excess of 10 percent for degenerative arthritis of the spine with lower back strain.

The Board granted service connection for hypogonadism with fatigue, GERD, and a right ear hearing loss disability. The Veteran's left rib disability was denied, and the ratings for his left shoulder injury, left hip bursitis, impairment of the left thigh, left knee retropatellar pain syndrome limitation of extension, and left ankle sprain were either granted or denied with specific rating percentages.

The Veteran was granted an initial disability rating of 40 percent for lumbosacral strain, DJD, from December 17, 1997 to June 3, 2022, and the effective date for service connection for bilateral lower extremity radiculopathy was also set at December 17, 1997. However, a higher rating or TDIU was denied.

The Veteran's service-connected left knee and right shoulder disabilities, along with compensation benefits awarded under 38 USC § 1151 for a right bicep detachment during shoulder surgery, prevented him from securing or following substantially gainful employment from December 22, 2011 to December 11, 2016.
