The Board denied service connection for a psychiatric disability, to include PTSD and anxiety disorder, as well as a rating in excess of 40 percent for the Veteran's lumbar spine degenerative disc disease and strain.
The deciding factor: The evidence did not support a finding that the Veteran's preexisting psychiatric disability was aggravated beyond its natural progression by service or caused or aggravated by his service-connected lumbar spine disability. The Veteran's anxiety disorder was less likely than not related to his military service, and there was no increase in severity of his lumbar spine disability during service.
