The Board denied the Veteran's claim for service connection for acute bronchitis, as it is subsumed in his service-connected asthma disorder.
The deciding factor: The January 2024 VA examiner found that the claimed bronchitis was acute only and had resolved. Additionally, the PFT did not support a diagnosis of restrictive or chronic bronchitis diagnosis. Furthermore, it was noted that it is common for asthmatics to get acute bronchitis with acute respiratory illnesses which are subsumed as part of the asthma diagnosis.
