GrantedPACT Act
The Board granted earlier effective dates for service connection of diabetes mellitus type II, hypertension, and hypothyroidism based on the Veteran's exposure to herbicide agents during his service in Thailand.
The deciding factor: The Veteran was exposed to herbicide agents as part of his duties near the perimeter of the base, and the PACT Act expanded the presumption of exposure to include these conditions effective January 1, 2021.
