A 20 percent rating for service-connected degenerative arthritis of the thoracolumbar spine (back disability) is granted from August 28, 2017 to July 5, 2022.,Prior to August 28, 2017, an initial rating in excess of 10 percent for service-connected back disability is denied. From July 5, 2022 onwards, a rating in excess of 20 percent for the same condition is also denied.
