Hearing loss decisions — 2024

The Board has remanded three issues: bilateral hearing loss, squamous cell carcinoma, and lung cancer. The reasons for the remand include inadequate medical opinions regarding the relationship between service-connected conditions and the claimed disabilities.

The Veteran's asthma and allergic rhinitis have been granted service connection on a presumptive basis due to toxic exposure in the Southwest Asia Theater of operations during the Gulf War.,Diabetes mellitus type II, diabetic neuropathy, bilateral hearing loss, tinnitus, and chronic back pain are all remanded for further review.

The Veteran's claim for increased ratings for service-connected bilateral hearing loss was denied. The Board found that the evidence did not support a compensable evaluation prior to November 22, 2019 or higher than 30 percent from that date.
