Hip decisions — 2009

The Board denied the veteran's claim for service connection for right hip disability as it was not related to his service or any service-connected condition. The veteran's intervertebral disc syndrome of the lumbar spine did not warrant a rating higher than 40 percent, and he was found not unemployable prior to May 11, 2006.

The veteran's appeal for service connection for GERD, tinnitus, and bilateral hearing loss was withdrawn. Service connection for a skin disability (tinea pedis) was granted.

The Board denied the veteran's claims for service connection for a back disability, hip disability, and residuals of a head injury as there was no medical evidence linking these conditions to his military service.

The Board denied service connection for a right knee disability, chronic neck and hip disabilities, bilateral tendonitis, bilateral heel disability, left ear hearing loss, peripheral neuropathy, and chronic eye disability. However, it granted service connection for a skin disability due to in-service exposure to sunlight and chemical irritants.

The veteran's claims for service connection for left and right hip disabilities, as well as post-traumatic stress disorder, were remanded for further development.

The veteran's claims for increased ratings for anxiety, left hip bursitis, and bilateral eye disability were denied as the evidence did not support a higher rating.

The Board denied service connection for a bilateral hip disability and a bilateral knee disability as the medical evidence did not support a link to active military service.
