Sinusitis Board decisions

The Board has granted service connection for respiratory illnesses including rhinitis and sinusitis due to burn pit exposure, but denied service connection for sleep apnea.

The Board dismissed the appeal for an increased rating in excess of 50 percent for sleep apnea due to untimeliness. The Veteran's appeals for service connection for bilateral hearing loss, asthma, sinusitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), hypertension, headaches, bilateral plantar fasciitis, sciatica, right knee disability, left knee disability, and an acquired psychiatric disability were denied.

The Veteran's claim for service connection for chronic bronchitis/sinusitis was denied because he failed to appear at a VA examination without good cause.

The Veteran's claim for a compensable rating for pansinusitis has been granted with the highest schedular disability evaluation available (50%) and effective as of March 16, 2021. As all benefits sought have been awarded, the appeal is dismissed.

The Veteran's PTSD has been rated at 50 percent effective April 19, 2021, with a higher rating denied. An earlier effective date of April 19, 2021, but no earlier, is granted for the grant of service connection for left knee strain with iliotibial band syndrome and shin splints (limitation of extension), chronic sinusitis, and GERD.
