Fibromyalgia decisions — 2022

The Board denied the Veteran's claims of service connection for bilateral foot disabilities, cervical spine disability, and lumbar spine disability. The evidence did not show an in-service disease or injury that led to these conditions.

The Board has granted service connection for tinnitus. The remaining issues of service connection for eye disability, neck disability, bilateral ankle disability, and fibromyalgia are remanded due to the need for additional development.

The Veteran's claim for service connection for fibromyalgia, a qualifying chronic disability resulting from an undiagnosed illness or medically unexplained multisymptom illness as defined by the Persian Gulf Veterans' Act, is granted.

The Veteran's service connection claim for an acquired psychiatric disability is granted. The Board also remanded several other issues related to her service-connected disabilities and secondary conditions.

The Board has remanded the cases for additional development to determine if the Veteran's current fibromyalgia and diabetes are related to exposure to contaminated water at Camp Lejeune during service.

The Veteran's appeal for fibromyalgia has been withdrawn. The Board has remanded the claims of service connection for headache disorder, OSA, and insomnia/somatization disorder.
