Hemorrhoids Board decisions

The Board has remanded two issues: service connection for hemorrhoids and service connection for the acquired psychiatric disorder to include PTSD. The Veteran's incarceration prevented him from receiving a VA examination, which is necessary to determine the nature and etiology of his claimed conditions.

The Veteran's combined disability rating is currently at 100%, but the Board finds that he has not been unemployable due to his service-connected disabilities, as evidenced by his continued employment and participation in vocational rehabilitation.

The Veteran's appeals for increased ratings of left index finger disability, left index finger scar, and hemorrhoids have been dismissed. The Board also remanded the claims for increased ratings of left knee instability, left ACL status-post anterior graft and meniscectomy, and right great toe fracture with osteoarthritis and hallux rigidus.

The Board denied the Veteran's claims for service connection for a dental disorder, granted an initial compensable evaluation for his service-connected hemorrhoids, and granted an initial evaluation higher than 10 percent for his service-connected dermatitis. The issues of increased ratings for other conditions remain in appellate status.

The Board has remanded the Veteran's claims for service connection for left knee condition, right wrist carpal tunnel syndrome, and left wrist carpal tunnel syndrome due to lack of development. The issues have not been adjudicated by the RO and appealed to the Board.

The Board has remanded the Veteran's claim for special monthly compensation (SMC) based on the need for regular aid and attendance of another person or by reason of being housebound due to a lack of an appropriate VA examination. The examiner must clarify if the Veteran is limited in his ability to bathe and toilet as a result of service-connected disabilities.

The Veteran's appeal for service connection for a skin disorder due to circumcision is dismissed. The claim for PTSD is denied. The appeal for respiratory disorder (asbestos exposure) is denied. The appeal for sleep disorder is denied. The appeal for headaches is denied. An initial rating of 20 percent for left ankle degenerative joint disease is granted. Appeals for coronary artery disease, hypertension, corns of the bilateral feet, and hemorrhoids are all denied.

The Veteran's service-connected conditions do not render him unable to secure or maintain substantially gainful employment.

The Board denied service connection for right shoulder disability, left shoulder disability, and hemorrhoids due to lack of evidence showing these conditions were incurred or aggravated by military service.,There is no indication that the Veteran's current disabilities are related to his active duty service.

The Veteran's service-connected disabilities, including PTSD and bilateral knee disorders, rendered him unable to work in any active or sedentary position he might have been able to obtain with his background. The Board has granted an effective date of January 19, 2011 for the TDIU.

The Board denied service connection for various conditions, including right shoulder and cervical spine disabilities, bilateral foot disorder, cardiac arrhythmia/abnormal EKG, prostate disorder, and hemorrhoids. The evidence did not support a finding that these conditions were related to active service.

The Board has found that the Veteran's sleep apnea and hemorrhoids had their onset during service, granting service connection for both conditions. However, his initial rating for bilateral hearing loss remains denied.

The Veteran's bilateral hearing loss and tinnitus are granted as service connected. The Veteran's hypertension is denied as secondary to diabetes mellitus type 2 and/or PTSD (claimed as hemorrhoids). Hemorrhoids claim is denied due to lack of current diagnosis.

The Veteran's use of hydrocortisone cream for his service-connected Pseudofolliculitis Barbae (PFB) and hemorrhoid did not cause irreparable damage to his clothing, as determined by VA. Therefore, the Veteran is denied a clothing allowance for the 2015 calendar year.

The Veteran's initial claim for an initial rating of 10 percent for hemorrhoids was granted, effective November 15, 2006.,A separate 30 percent rating for bowel impairment due to anal fistula associated with hemorrhoids is also granted, effective November 15, 2018.

The Veteran's bilateral hearing loss disability, tinnitus, and PTSD are all granted as service-connected.,Left foot tendonitis, right foot tendonitis, neck disability, low back disability, bilateral pes planus, left heel calcaneal spur, right heel calcaneal spur, and hemorrhoids remain pending for further development.

Service connection for Ischemic Heart Disease (IHD) is denied.,Effective dates earlier than May 29, 2003, are not granted for service connection of Anemia and Hemorrhoids.

The Veteran's claim for an increased disability rating for hemorrhoids is denied as the symptoms do not present an exceptional disability picture that would warrant a higher schedular rating.

The Board has dismissed the Veteran's appeals regarding hearing loss, increased ratings for tinnitus, otitis externa, and hemorrhoids. The Veteran was granted service connection for a right shoulder disorder.
