Hemorrhoids Board decisions

The Board has dismissed the appeals for increased ratings for rectum and anus, impairment of sphincter control associated with hemorrhoids, status post hemorrhoidectomy, and hemorrhoids, status post hemorrhoidectomy.

The Veteran's TDIU claim from November 5, 2002 to September 24, 2007 was denied as his service-connected IBS and hemorrhoids did not render him unable to secure or follow a substantially gainful occupation.

The Board has granted service connection for unspecified depressive disorder and denied service connection for erectile dysfunction, bilateral hearing loss, narcolepsy (loss of consciousness), fecal incontinence, and hemorrhoids. The Veteran's claim for an initial compensable rating for fecal incontinence was also denied.

The Veteran's service-connected disabilities did not render him so helpless as to need regular aid and attendance of another, nor did they qualify for SMC based on housebound status prior to February 9, 2021. The Veteran's appeal for service connection for sinus bradycardia was voluntarily withdrawn. The RO granted a 30 percent rating for migraines and granted separate ratings of 10 percent each for right knee strain with shin splints s/p arthroscopy, right knee instability, and right knee post-operative meniscectomy. The appeal concerning left shoulder disability, plantar warts, left knee disability, and internal hemorrhoids is remanded.

The Board has granted an effective date of March 23, 2001 for the award of TDIU and DEA benefits. The Veteran's service-connected disabilities have prevented him from securing or following any substantially gainful occupation since that date.
